Set in a landscape of sublime beauty, this is a small town with city amenities — combined with all the joy and ambiance of mountain living. This unique combination is what makes the Aspen Lifestyle unique, rewarding, and incredibly special.
In summer, take coffee at any of the tasty bistros in town then go for a hike in the surrounding hills — or beyond into the mountains. Fly fish gold-medal water, enjoy boating on nearby lakes, or just lounge in alpine sunshine after a day of shopping at some of the most interesting retailers you’ll find anywhere.
If culture is your desire, the Aspen Music Festival yields world class delights. Or take in ballet, after hours jazz, scores of fine art galleries, and the acclaimed Aspen Art Museum. And remember to visit the Wheeler Opera House, Aspen’s princess of the performing arts — now restored to her full Victorian splendor.
This is an athletic community. From softball to mountain climbing, the Aspen lifestyle is about picking your sport and achieving your personal best. Hike or mountain bike hundreds of trails in the White River National Forest. Climb fourteen thousand foot peaks in the famed Maroon Bells wilderness. Learn to para-sail. Backcountry ski or snowshoe to the finest huts in North America. Quest for physical excellence at the world famous Aspen Club. Or just take a quiet walk or hike through shimmering aspen forests…
Another thing we shouldn’t forget when speaking of our community is the excellence of our health care. While not a large town, we’ve built a hospital that’s second to none. Other regional medical care is also world class. For example, our stunning Colorado environment inspired the Jaywalker Lodge drug rehab center with emphasis on the outdoors, that’s known worldwide for its succes.
And the skiing. Simply put, the Aspen Lifestyle is about strolling across town and hopping on our gondola to the summit Aspen Mountain, one of the finest ski areas in North America. After you feast your eyes on the stunning views from the top, then perhaps lunch at the world-class Sundeck summit restaurant, you glide down perfectly groomed snow, cutting arcs in the swooping confines of Spar Gulch, one of the most unique and exciting ski runs in North America. And if that isn’t enough, try backcountry skiing.
Up for another ski run, and another, you realize at day’s you skied better than ever — better than you ever thought you could.
