MARKET ACTIVITY REPORT

The Aspen market has been “on fire” this year. There is a very strong sense that “the appreciation train is leaving the station” once again! A fabulous ski season led to a very strong March and February in the Aspen real estate market.

With just under $300 million closed and more under contract in the first quarter of 2004 in the Aspen area, we are on pace for another record year of $1.2+ billion, which rivals the best markets of the late nineties.

First quarter (2003) sales numbers were total dollar volume of only $160 million for the same period.

Twenty-two single family homes have been sold in Aspen proper this year, with a total dollar sales volume of nearly $ 65 million, resulting in an average sale of nearly $3 million. So, if there ever was a time to make your Aspen purchase, I suggest that time is NOW!
